Description
SafAle S-33 11.5 g – fruity dry yeast for Belgian beers and NEIPA
SafAle S-33 from Fermentis is a fruity yeast strain that gives the beer high mouthfeel and body. It suits Belgian beers (blond, dubbel, tripel and quadrupel) and strong English ales such as imperial stout, and it is also well suited to New England IPA. The yeast has medium sedimentation: it forms no clumps, but a powdery haze when resuspended in the beer.

Frequently asked questions about SafAle S-33
How much S-33 do I need?
Fermentis recommends 50–80 g per hectolitre, so one 11.5 g sachet covers approx. 14–23 litres of wort. Strong beers and large batches need more yeast.
What temperature should S-33 ferment at?
The ideal fermentation temperature is 18–26 °C. For NEIPA, 20–22 °C gives plenty of tropical and citrus aroma.
Do I need to rehydrate S-33?
Fermentis states that the yeast can be sprinkled directly onto the wort or rehydrated first. Many brewers rehydrate dry yeast, but opinions differ.
Will my beer be clear with S-33?
S-33 has medium sedimentation and low flocculation. It settles as a powdery sediment and can leave some haze if it is stirred up.
