Description
Idaho 7 hop pellets – American hop with tropical fruit and pine
Idaho 7, also known as 007: The Golden Hop, is an American hop with tropical fruit and citrus, think orange, tangerine, apricot and papaya, plus notes of pine and black tea. The variety was released in 2015 as the first proprietary hop from Jackson Farms in Idaho. It is a dual-purpose hop that can be used for bittering, but it is mostly used as a late addition and for dry hopping in IPA and pale ale. The pack contains 100 g of pellets.
Aroma and flavour
- Orange, tangerine, apricot and papaya

- Yakima Valley Hops also describes a zesty tangerine flavour reminiscent of marmalade, with soft tropical notes of pineapple and guava
Use
- Late additions, whirlpool and dry hopping for the most aroma
- Can also be used for bittering
- Pairs well with Citra, El Dorado and Azacca, according to Yakima Valley Hops
- Alternative hops: Amarillo, Chinook and Columbus
Technical data
- Alpha acid for the lot: stated in the product title
- Origin: Idaho, USA
- Pack size: 100 g pellets
Storage
The hops are vacuum-packed and stored in a freezer room at −18 °C, and the quality keeps well for several years. We prioritise hops from the last two harvests, but older hops can be just as good when they have been stored correctly. Once the pack is opened, seal it airtight and put it in the freezer.
