Description

Brewtools F80 Unitank Light – pressure-rated fermenter, 80 litres

The Brewtools F80 Unitank Light is a unitank for ambitious home brewers, brewing clubs and small breweries. You can ferment, clarify and carbonate your beer in the same tank. It has a cooling jacket in the vertical wall, is rated for working pressures up to 2.0 bar (30 PSI) and is made from 1.5 mm stainless steel. The recommended working volume is 20–80 litres.

The F80 Unitank Light is the same tank as the standard F80 Unitank, but with slightly less equipment. The large TC adapter (8" to 3"), the sample valve and the racking arm are made from polyketone (POK), a food-grade, very durable plastic that withstands high temperatures and acid. That lowers the cost without affecting the user experience. The Unitank Light can be upgraded to standard wherever you like.

Connect the tank to a Quantor glycol chiller for good control of fermentation. For the F80 we recommend the Quantor MiniChilly 03 SB Compatible, which has enough cooling capacity for two of these tanks.

Frequently asked questions about the Brewtools F80 Unitank Light

How much beer can I ferment in the F80 Unitank Light?

The recommended working volume is 20–80 litres. The gross volume is 86 litres.

Can I ferment under pressure?

Yes. The tank is rated to 2.0 bar. A typical pressure for pressure fermentation is 0.7–1 bar, and many brewers ferment the first couple of days without pressure. You need a spunding valve for this.

How do I cool the tank?

The cooling jacket in the wall connects to a glycol chiller via 34 mm TC. That lets you control fermentation temperature and chill down for a cold crash.

How is the tank delivered?

The tank is too large and heavy for parcel delivery and is shipped on a pallet.

What is the difference between the F80 Unitank Light and the F80 Unitank?

The tank is the same. The Light version has slightly less equipment, and the 8" to 3" TC adapter, sample valve and racking arm are made from POK. The Light can be upgraded to standard wherever you like.
