Description

Ægir Utpå Dagen Sitrus Pale Ale – all-grain beer kit

This all-grain kit was created together with Ægir Bryggeri in Flåm, for home brewers who want to brew an evolved version of Dag Sitrus Pale Ale. The result is Utpå Dagen Sitrus Pale Ale: a refreshing beer where orange peel and American hop varieties give a fresh, fruity aroma with a mild citrus character. The strength is raised from 4% in Dag Sitrus to 5%, and the kit is exclusive to home brewers at Brewshop.

Frequently asked questions about the Ægir Utpå Dagen all-grain kit

What is the difference between Utpå Dagen and Dag Sitrus Pale Ale?

Utpå Dagen is an evolved version of Ægir's Dag Sitrus Pale Ale, created together with the brewery. The strength is raised from 4% to 5%.

How much beer does the kit make?

Approx. 21–22 litres of finished beer. You start with 28 litres pre-boil and have approx. 25 litres into the fermenter.

How should the beer be fermented?

With two packs of SafAle US-05 for 10–14 days at 21 °C. Check with a hydrometer, and consider fermentation finished when the reading is the same two to three days in a row.

Why is the malt uncrushed?

Once crushed, malt starts to oxidise and lose flavour and aroma. Brewshop therefore stores malt uncrushed and only crushes it when you choose crushed malt at checkout. With your own grain mill you crush the malt just before brewing.
