How do I tell the gas post from the beer post?
On a Cornelius keg, the post marked "in" on the handle is gas in. Beer is dispensed from the other post, through the dip tube.

What if the valve leaks?
Check the O-ring and replace it if needed. A little keg lube on the O-rings helps them seal better and last longer.
