Monkey Brew Plato Pale all-grain beer kit – American pale ale

In collaboration with the craft brewery Monkey Brew, we give you the chance to brew their Plato Pale at home. Plato Pale is an American-style pale ale, generously dry-hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Mosaic. The beer is easy-drinking and fresh, with a clear, fruity hop character.

The kit is for brewers who mash and boil from scratch, for example with a brewing system.

About Monkey Brew

Monkey Brew is an independent craft brewery in Trondheim, Norway. The brewery makes a wide range of styles, from intensely hopped IPAs to kettle sours with real fruit, barrel-aged imperial stouts and sours matured in foeders and oak barrels. Its philosophy is "Always Evolve", and the brewery keeps exploring new flavours and brewing techniques.

Unmilled malt for fresh ingredients

For quality and shelf life, the malt is supplied unmilled. If you don't already have one, we recommend a grain mill so your ingredients are completely fresh on brew day. Freshly milled malt gives the best result.

With OG 1.054 and FG 1.010 the beer ends up at approx. 5.8% ABV. Bitterness is 36 IBU and colour 14.3 EBC.

How much yeast is included, and how should it ferment?

The kit contains two packs of S-04 dry yeast. Recommended fermentation is 14 days at 19 °C.

What equipment do I need?

An all-grain kit is for brewers who mash and boil themselves, for example with a brewing system. You also need a fermenter, sanitizer and a grain mill, since the malt is supplied unmilled.
