Description
John Guest 5/16" – 3/16" Reducer – from 5/16" stem to 3/16" tubing
A straight reducer from John Guest with a 5/16" stem at one end and a push-fit socket for 3/16" OD tubing at the other. The stem end pushes into a 5/16" John Guest fitting, and the thin 3/16" tubing pushes into the other end. A common use is going from a 5/16" line to a thin, foam-reducing beer line.
John Guest push-fit fittings are made for quick, secure and leak-free connection of hoses and tubes carrying liquid and gas under pressure. Brewshop stocks a wide range of food-grade fittings, adapters, tubing and tools from John Guest.

Which tubing fits the 3/16" end?
Tubing with a 3/16" outer diameter, for example the LDPE beer line 3 mm ID, 3/16" OD.
What is the difference between a reducer and a 5/16" – 3/16" union connector?
The reducer has a stem at the 5/16" end that pushes into another fitting. The John Guest union connector 5/16" – 3/16" has push-fit sockets at both ends, for two tubes.

Thin tubing gives more resistance, so the beer comes out of the tap more calmly and foams less.
