Frequently asked questions about the MiniUni Pressure Kit 2.0

Why ferment under pressure?

Pressure suppresses ester formation, so lagers, for example, can be fermented warmer, and the CO2 from fermentation stays in the beer. A typical pressure is 0.7–1 bar, and many brewers run the first couple of days without pressure.

Can I dry hop without releasing the pressure?

Yes, with the Brewtools 2" HopDrop kit, which fits the 2" port on the new pressure lid.

How do I dispense the beer?

The kit has a hose barb with silicone tubing and a floating ball, so you draw from the top of the liquid via the liquid ball lock. Stainless M16 tubes can be used instead.

What does the PRV do?

The PRV lets you release pressure when you want and also acts as a pressure relief valve if the pressure gets too high.
