Description
Amundsen Emperor of Sand – all-grain beer kit for imperial stout
Emperor of Sand is an imperial stout from Amundsen Bryggeri, and the beer kit is packed for us by the brewery. The beer has a complex aroma of roasted malt and coffee, and a full-bodied flavour of dark chocolate and caramel, with hints of vanilla and a subtle smoky finish. At 12% ABV, this is a beer for brewers who brew with their own brewing system, mashing and boiling from scratch.
Please note: In this beer kit the hops are supplied in whole 50 g packs. You will therefore need your own scale to weigh out the right amount of hops during brew day.

Frequently asked questions about the Amundsen Emperor of Sand all-grain beer kit
Why are three packs of yeast included?
Emperor of Sand has an OG of 1.126. Strong beer needs more yeast than regular beer, which is why three packs of US-05 are included.
What if my brewing system cannot take 8.8 kg of malt?
Then you can double mash: mash half the malt, empty the malt pipe and mash the rest in the wort from the first round. See the article on double mashing.
Why do I need my own scale?
The hops come in whole 50 g packs, not pre-weighed per addition. You therefore need to weigh out the right amount yourself.
Should I oxygenate the wort?
Oxygenation is especially important at high OG. Without enough oxygen, fermentation can be slow and incomplete.
What is not included in the kit?
Priming sugar, fining agents and any yeast nutrient must be bought separately.
