Description
Warrior 100 g hop pellets – bittering hop with clean bitterness
Warrior is an American bittering hop bred by Yakima Chief Ranches. It has high alpha acid and low cohumulone, which gives a clean, smooth bitterness. The aroma is mild, but the high myrcene content adds a light, zesty edge of citrus, spice and pine. Warrior has good storage stability and is widely used in hop-forward American ales. The 100 g pack is suited to homebrewers.

How to use Warrior

Frequently asked questions about Warrior
Why choose Warrior for bittering?
Warrior has high alpha acid and low cohumulone, which gives a clean, smooth bitterness. You therefore need little hops to reach a high IBU.
What can I use instead of Warrior?
Nugget, Columbus and Magnum are alternative bittering hops.
How high is the alpha acid in Warrior?
Yakima Valley Hops gives a typical range of 15–18% for the variety. Alpha acid varies from year to year. The alpha acid for the lot you receive is stated in the product title. Use that figure when calculating bitterness.
How should I store the hops?
Store the hops cold, dark and airtight, preferably in a freezer. We keep our hops vacuum-packed in a freezer room at −18 °C, and the quality holds for several years. We prioritise hops from the two most recent harvests, but older hops can be just as good if stored correctly. Read more in the article on hop shelf life and storage from Yakima Valley Hops (PDF).
