Description
Speidel cooling coil for fermenters – control your fermentation temperature
Stainless steel cooling coil from Speidel for plastic fermenters of 12 to 60 litres. The coil hangs down in the wort, and when cold water or coolant is circulated through it, you keep the fermentation temperature where it should be. This is especially useful for lagers, which ferment cool.
How to fit the cooling coil
The coil is fitted in the lid of the fermenter by drilling two holes. A drill bit and a template showing where to drill are included.

Frequently asked questions about the Speidel cooling coil
What else do I need besides the cooling coil?
You need a source of cold water or coolant and a pump or system that circulates it through the coil, ideally controlled by a temperature controller.
Do I have to drill holes in the lid?
Yes. The coil is fitted by drilling two holes in the lid. A drill bit and template are included, so the holes get the right position and size.
Why is temperature control important during fermentation?
Fermentation produces heat. Without cooling, the beer can get warmer than the room, which can cause off-flavours. Lagers are especially sensitive.
