Description
Project Brew thermowell 20 cm – for the temperature probe in your fermenter
A thermowell in 304 stainless steel lets the temperature probe measure the temperature inside the beer, not on the outside of the vessel. This gives more precise control of the fermentation temperature. The thermowell has a universal, weldless design that fits most fermenters, including plastic ones.
The thermowell is fitted in a 17 mm hole. It has an inner diameter of 6.5 mm and fits the temperature probe of the Inkbird WiFi temperature controller.
Technical data
- Length: 20 cm
- Material: 304 stainless steel
- Mounting hole: 17 mm
- Inner diameter: 6.5 mm
- Weldless design
How to use the thermowell
Fit the thermowell in a 17 mm hole in the fermenter and insert the temperature probe. Connect the probe to a temperature controller, for example the Inkbird WiFi ITC-308, which controls cooling and heating.
Frequently asked questions about the Project Brew thermowell
Why should I use a thermowell?
With a thermowell the probe measures the temperature inside the beer. The yeast produces heat during fermentation, so the beer can be warmer than the air around the fermenter.
Which temperature probe fits?
The thermowell has an inner diameter of 6.5 mm and fits the temperature probe of the Inkbird WiFi temperature controller.
What size hole do I need?
The thermowell is fitted in a 17 mm hole.
Does it fit plastic fermenters?
Yes. The weldless design fits most fermenters, including plastic ones.
