pH paper strips universal 1–12 (20 pcs) – easy pH testing without calibration
Universal pH test strips for quick and easy measurement of acidity (pH) in liquids. The measuring range is pH 1–12, covering everything from very acidic to alkaline solutions. Each strip has a clear colour chart for easy reading.
The strips are suited to simple checks during brewing, cleaning, water adjustment and lab work. Paper strips have a lower resolution than a digital pH meter. For sour beer brewing, where accurate pH control is essential, we therefore recommend a pH meter.
How to use the strips
- Dip the strip in the liquid you want to measure, such as wort, mash or water.
- Wait 3 seconds and take the strip out.
- Compare the middle field with the colour scale.

Frequently asked questions about universal pH paper strips 1–12
Are pH strips accurate enough to measure mash pH?
The universal strips give a rough indication. Ideal mash pH is 5.2–5.6, and strips with a narrower range, such as 5.2–6.8, or a pH meter are better suited to that.
How do I read the strip?
Dip the strip in the liquid, wait 3 seconds, take it out and compare the middle field with the scale.
Do the strips need calibrating?
No. pH paper strips need no calibration, unlike a pH meter.
