Description

Messermeister Oliva Luxe Santoku Kullenschliff 16.5 cm – Japanese chef’s knife

The Messermeister Oliva Luxe Santoku Kullenschliff (16.5 cm) is a Japanese-inspired chef’s knife with good balance and a sharp edge. Its thin, tapered blade profile makes it well suited to precise cutting of vegetables, fish and meat. The Kullenschliff hollows in the blade reduce friction so food does not stick to the blade as easily.

The knife is hand-forged in Solingen, Germany, from German 1.4116 stainless steel, which stays sharp for a long time and resists corrosion. It is bolsterless, which gives good control and makes it easy to sharpen the whole blade from heel to tip. The Italian olive wood handle is ergonomically shaped for a comfortable, secure grip.

Frequently asked questions about the Messermeister Oliva Luxe Santoku

What is Kullenschliff?

Kullenschliff refers to hollows along the blade. They let air in between the blade and the food, so slices do not stick as easily and the knife glides through more easily.

What is the difference between a santoku and a regular chef’s knife?

A santoku is a Japanese chef’s knife with a shorter, straighter blade than a European chef’s knife. It is well suited to slicing and chopping vegetables, fish and meat.

Is the knife dishwasher safe?

No. Wash it by hand and dry it immediately.

Does the knife have a warranty?

Yes, The Knife for Life™ is Messermeister’s lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
