Mark II Keg Washer – keg washer for Cornelius kegs and fermenters

The Mark II Keg Washer is a keg washer for homebrewers who use Cornelius kegs. It has a reservoir of approx. 4 litres and a stand in the middle, where you place the Cornelius keg, carboy or bucket upside down. A spray nozzle in the centre is driven by a pump of approx. 22 litres per minute and flushes the inside of the keg with cleaning solution while you do something else.

The reservoir is also large enough for small items from brew day, such as airlocks and thermometers. The Keg Washer is moulded in one piece of high-density polyethylene, which is durable and handles common cleaning agents well.

How to use the Keg Washer

  1. Fill the reservoir with water mixed with a cleaner, for example Chemipro Oxi (recommended), PBW or Chemipro Wash.
  2. Place the keg, bucket or carboy upside down on the stand.
  3. Start the pump and let it run until the keg is clean.

Chemipro Oxi cleans with active oxygen and also has a sanitizing effect. After 5–10 minutes of contact time with Chemipro Oxi, you do not need to rinse with water or use Star San or Chemipro San afterwards. You clean and sanitize the Cornelius keg in one single step. If the kegs are heavily soiled, it can pay off to pre-wash with a stronger cleaner first, such as PBW or Chemipro Wash.

Which cleaner should I use in the Keg Washer?

We recommend Chemipro Oxi, which both cleans and sanitizes. PBW and Chemipro Wash also work well and are good for pre-washing heavily soiled kegs.

Do I need to rinse the keg after washing with Chemipro Oxi?

No. After 5–10 minutes of contact time with Chemipro Oxi, you do not need to rinse with water or sanitize with Star San or Chemipro San.

Can I wash anything other than Cornelius kegs?

Yes. The Keg Washer also suits fermenting buckets, carboys and hoses, and the reservoir has room for small items such as airlocks and thermometers.

Are a hose and quick disconnect included?

No, the hose and ball lock quick disconnect are not included.
