John Guest Quick Connect 1/4" – 5/16" – reducing straight connector
Reducing straight connector from John Guest that joins tubing or pipe with 1/4" and 5/16" outer diameter. It is used for example on gas and beer lines in kegerators, dispensing systems and CO2 setups, where two tube sizes need to meet.
John Guest push-fit fittings are made for quick, secure and leak-free connection of tubing and pipes, for both liquids and gas under pressure. The tube is pushed into the fitting and held in place by a toothed collet and an O-ring. To release it, push in the collet and pull out the tube.

Which tubing fits the connector?

How do I avoid leaks?
Cut the tube square and free of burrs, and push it all the way in until it stops. A microscopic leak can draw in air and cause foaming. If so, cut the tube end and reconnect.
Can the fitting handle Star San?
Acid-based products can over time make plastic parts such as John Guest fittings brittle. Rinse the fittings with clean water if they have been in contact with Star San for a longer period.
