The hydrometer with test jar is a simple and useful starter kit for those brewing beer, cider, wine, mead, or other fermented beverages. The hydrometer is used to measure the specific gravity of wort, must, or mead, allowing you to monitor fermentation and calculate the approximate alcohol percentage.

The kit includes a triple scale hydrometer with a measuring range of 0.990–1.160 SG, 0–35 Brix, and 0–20% potential alcohol. The 250 ml test jar makes it easy to take a sample and read the hydrometer correctly.

Also included is a self-adhesive thermometer to attach to the fermenter. During active fermentation, the temperature in the vessel can be higher than room temperature, and the thermometer makes it easier to ensure that the fermentation stays within the correct temperature range.
