Frequently asked questions about Harlequin

Where does Harlequin come from?

Harlequin is British. It was developed in the Charles Faram Hop Development Programme and launched in 2019.

What can I use instead of Harlequin?

Mosaic is the alternative we list. The flavour will not be identical, but both give plenty of tropical fruit.

How much alpha acid does this Harlequin have?

Yakima Valley Hops gives a typical 9–12% for the variety. The alpha acid for the lot you receive is stated in the product title. Use it when you calculate bitterness.

How should I store the hops?

Cold, dark and airtight, preferably in the freezer. Seal an opened bag well, ideally with a vacuum sealer. Stored correctly, hops keep for a long time, including hops from earlier harvests.
