Description

Grainfather G70v2 fully automatic brewing system

The Grainfather G70v2 is the updated version of the Grainfather G70 brewing system. It is robustly built and has a 70-litre pre-boil volume, giving around 60 litres into the fermenter. It is not just a larger version of the Grainfather Connect 30L, but has a completely new design and features for brewers of every level.

New in the G70v2

  • Perforated grain basket with no need for a top plate or centre pipe, for a better brewing experience
  • Integrated sight glass in the recirculation pipe

Precise temperature control

The G70v2 is programmable and PID-controlled for precise temperature control. The controller has WIFI, which gives a more stable connection than Bluetooth. You can set the system so that the mash water is hot when you get home from work.

The heating element covers around 80% of the base for efficient and even heat distribution, which reduces the risk of scorching. The base has a 15-degree angle and a centred drain. It is designed so that you can brew with a lot of hops without a separate hop filter, and the pump runs without slowing even with, for example, 1 kg of hops. The system comes with sturdy handles and a lifting bar with an attachment point for a hoist.

Fast chilling and cleaning

The G70v2 comes with a powerful counterflow chiller and pump. Together with two-stage filtering, this gives chilling of the full batch as fast as in the smaller Grainfather G30. The integrated sight glass is marked in both litres and gallons, so you can read the volume directly without calculating mash and sparge water. A ball valve makes it quick and easy to drain the system after cleaning.

Cleaning is simple and effective with CIP (clean in place), which uses the pump and the cleaning arm. The system comes with sturdy handles, a dust cover and adapters for connecting to a water supply.

Quick Start guide

Frequently asked questions about the Grainfather G70v2

How much beer can I brew with the G70v2?

Batch volume is 30–60 litres. With 70 litres pre-boil, you get around 60 litres of wort into the fermenter, enough for three Cornelius kegs.

How much grain does the G70v2 take?

Grain capacity is 8–16 kg, or 17 kg with a top plate. Leaving some headroom below the maximum gives better recirculation and sparging.

Do I need a hop filter?

No. The base has a 15-degree angle and a centred drain, so you can brew with a lot of hops without a separate hop filter. The pump runs without slowing even with around 1 kg of hops.

Can I brew indoors with the G70v2?

Yes, but boiling 70 litres produces a lot of steam. If you do not have a powerful extractor, we recommend the steam condenser for the Grainfather G40 and G70.
