Description
Clock Out Session IPA – Limited Edition all-grain beer kit
Clock Out Session IPA is a light and hop-forward session IPA at approx. 4.9% ABV – an IPA with full hop aroma but lower alcohol, perfect for when the working day is over. The kit is for all-grain brewers who want to brew an aromatic, easy-drinking beer with a clear hop character.
The malt base is pale ale malt with flaked oats, wheat malt and flaked maize. The pale ale malt gives a light and solid base, oats and wheat add body and a soft mouthfeel, while flaked maize keeps the body light and clean. The result is a pale, golden beer at EBC 9.
The hop is the American variety Strata, known for notes of passion fruit, strawberry and grapefruit. A total of 165 grams of Strata is split between a bittering addition, a hop stand at 80°C and two rounds of dry hopping, so most of the hops go to aroma and flavour rather than bitterness. Fermentis SafAle S-04 gives a clean fermentation, and the beer is fermented at 20°C from OG 1.049 to FG 1.012.
This is a Limited Edition beer kit produced in limited numbers only.

Frequently asked questions about Clock Out Session IPA
What does Clock Out Session IPA taste like?
Fresh and fruity, with passion fruit, strawberry and grapefruit from Strata, a light and soft malt body and a moderate bitterness of IBU 35.
What is a session IPA?
A session IPA is an IPA with lower alcohol, usually around 4–5%. It has much of the hop aroma of a regular IPA, but is lighter and more drinkable.
What is a hop stand?
A hop stand is a hop addition made after the boil, once the wort has cooled a little. In this kit, 50 g of Strata stands for 30 minutes at 80°C, giving lots of aroma and little extra bitterness.
Is the malt crushed?
No. The malt is supplied uncrushed because crushed malt starts to lose flavour and aroma. Crush it with a malt mill just before you brew.
How much beer does the kit make?
The recipe is based on approx. 28 litres before the boil and approx. 25 litres after the boil. The beer finishes at approx. 4.9% ABV.
