1.5" Tri-Clamp thermowell 18 cm – accurate temperature inside the tank
A thermowell with a 1.5" Tri-Clamp ferrule. It fits a Tri-Clamp port on a fermenter or kettle and gives the temperature probe a sealed pocket in the middle of the liquid. You measure the temperature of the beer rather than the outside of the tank, and the probe never touches the wort.
The thermowell is made by Brumetal, Brewshop's own brand of high quality 304 stainless steel parts.

Which temperature probes fit?
The probe must be less than 7 mm in diameter, which is the inner diameter of the thermowell. Check the size of your controller's probe before ordering.
What do I need to fit the thermowell?
A 1.5" Tri-Clamp port on the tank, a 1.5" gasket and a 1.5" clamp.
Why use a thermowell instead of an external probe?
An external probe measures the tank wall and is affected by room temperature. In a thermowell the probe sits inside the liquid and gives a truer reading of fermentation temperature.
