Tilt Repeater – extends the range of your Tilt Hydrometer
The Tilt Repeater is designed for stainless steel fermenters. It extends the range of your Tilt Hydrometer so the signal reaches a tablet, phone or Tilt Pi for continuous automatic logging. The repeater relays the signal from one Tilt at a time, as long as the signal is strong enough, and updates at least every 2 minutes.
The repeater can be placed inside a fridge along with a keg or fermenter to push the signal out to phones, tablets and Raspberry Pi logging. The included rechargeable micro-USB lithium-ion battery lasts about 6 months.
Getting started
- Unscrew the caps on each end of the plastic tube and gently push out the electronics.
- Using the colour key on the battery holder, press the button repeatedly to select the colour of the Tilt to repeat. Press once for a red Tilt or twice for a green Tilt. To turn the repeater off, press until the LED blinks red.
- Open the Tilt app and check that the selected colour shows SG 0.000 and 0 °F (-17.8 °C). Once the repeater connects (periodic green LED flash), it shows the actual values.
- Put the electronics back in the tube and screw the caps on. Place the repeater as close to the Tilt as possible, but outside the fermenter, and check that the LED flashes green.

Frequently asked questions about the Tilt Repeater
Why do I need a repeater?
Steel, for example in stainless fermenters and fridges, weakens the Bluetooth signal from the Tilt. The repeater picks up the signal near the tank and passes it on to your phone, tablet or Tilt Pi.
How many Tilts can it repeat?
One at a time. You choose which colour to repeat with the button on the battery holder.
How long does the battery last?
About 6 months. The battery is recharged via micro-USB.
Can the repeater go in the fridge?
Yes. It can be placed in the fridge along with the keg or fermenter, but outside the vessel itself.
