Description
Small shovel whirlpool from BacBrewing – a powerful whirlpool with a drill
The Small shovel whirlpool is a whirlpool paddle from Italian BacBrewing that creates a powerful whirlpool quickly and effortlessly. You fit it in a drill or screwdriver and use it in up to 50 litres of wort, for example in a Grainfather or other brewing systems of the same size. A whirlpool gathers hops and trub in a cone in the middle of the kettle, so you get clearer wort out.
The paddle has three blades welded to the shaft at 120° to each other. Three blades instead of two keep the paddle balanced and easy to hold in the centre of the kettle. The teardrop-shaped blades do not disturb the bottom and do not splash when the paddle is pulled out.
How to use the paddle
- Fit the paddle in the drill and lower it into the wort.
- Start the drill gradually and keep a steady speed with the speed control.
- When the wort is moving fast along the edge, slowly pull the paddle out while the drill runs at a constant speed.
